Listen in, listen Ian!
For want of anything better to create distracting background noise, I'm half-heartedly watching the Grand Prix. (There wasn't even a decent crash at the start of the race. What's the point of that then?) There was a genuinely interesting bit in the build-up, where they explained in detail what goes on in the pit stop, including the bloke with a sign on a big stick basically saying 'STOP' on one side and 'GO' on the other so the driver's in sync with the crew. Of course, when they showed a real pitstop just now, the sign on the stick just had a red border on one side, and a green one on the other side, leaving plenty of space for a big Panasonic advert. Astonishingly, football still has so much to learn. Those silly numbers the players wear are taking up valuable commercial space!
