Weekend, with pictures [Jan. 18th, 2010|11:29 pm]
Listen in, listen Ian!
On Saturday, I went to the Ice Sculpting Festival at Canary Wharf. I took the opportunity to wander round the area too, which is always interesting, and I got quite excited when I turned a corner and found a road to nowhere:

It was all to do with the construction work for the Crossrail station there it turns out.

The Festival itself was good - there was the opportunity to have a go yourself, but by the time I got there all the slots were booked. Watching the pros in action was fun though:

Yesterday I went to Bruce Castle Museum, which is Haringey's local history museum. It's quite interesting, although it does seem to be far too much about the east of the borough, with not enough about Hornsey. There was a nice little exhibition about Walter Tull.

On the way home I stopped off at Ally Pally for a walk, and the lake was still frozen over:

tbf the west side of the borough has the clean streets the nice shops and the lower crime rate so I reckon we can let the east side have their museum bias.
