Listen in, listen Ian!
I'm on lates(11-7) this week. This has two undesirable side-effects; I'll get home slightly too late to see the kick-off of the evening football match, but more importantly all the big glasses have been claimed for the day by the time I get here, and I'm left with this puny little thing I'm drinking orange squash out of now. Grr.

Apart from watch all the football, all the time this weekend I went to see the map exhibition at the British Library, and it's fantastic. Lots and lots of amazing old maps. My favourite was the one of the Magellan Straits, that was made by someone whose name I'm afraid I've forgotten but it was brilliantly annotated with pictures of llamas and the like. In short, go and see it if you're in London, and if you're not look at the bits that are on the website.

I went to see the maps too! I missed the llamas though - turned out two hours wasn't long enough and I had to rush round them - but I liked that the sea was full of scary beasts with several blowholes, and some of them looked like spaniels with horns.

Why don't you put a glass in your desk drawer at the end of the day? I hid a work fork and a work spoon in my desk for months during the great cutlery famine of 2009.
