Listen in, listen Ian!

[music |Belle & Sebastain - Stars of Track & Field]

For my birthday so far I have got:

  • Some bars of chocolate from my nephew and niece

  • Some money from les parents

  • An Amazon gift voucher from my sister

  • An estimate for the repairs to my car of 850 to 900 pounds. So not happening. The train was fine this morning, even if I did have to get up a bit earlier. And it shouldn't be too bad getting home on it tonight. Who needs a stoopid car?

  • The discovery that next week's Book Club is already sold out. When I last called the ticket line it wasn't even available for reservation, now it's sold out already. Tsk. If anyone has/knows of a spare place etc.

  • The discovery when ringing about Book Club that Daniel Kitson's playing there next Monday, so I booked a ticket for that instead.

Happy birthday.

I've been meaning to ask, will you be getting a new LJ account if Ruud leaves Old Trafford?

I don't know. I've agonised over it, and like him, I'll wait until after the world cup. I don't want to just dump him like that1 because I think he's being treated fvcking disgracefully.

1Excessive sense of self-importance, much?

Happy birthday! I suppose any hopes I might have of seeing this Book Club of which you speak, some day in the future, should be shelved in the not-going-to-happen category...

Yes, I've got a ticket for Regent's Park too, because you can't have too much Danny really.

Has he ever done book club? He should, really, it would just be right.

oooh no, he hasn't actually!

he did do a thing a while back at lowdown (which i presume what you are seeing will be a more polished version of) - bitter sweet story telling.

it was beautiful!

i've only ever seen him at the Monday Club comedy-club-wise - have you been there? it is more raucous and less fanboy, and often I think he relishes having something to fight against. Certainly he has always been fantastic there! except that time with him and Phil Nicol stripping down to matching brown(!) grundies
