Listen in, listen Ian!
Why haven't you all joined Twitter yet
then? It's far better than facebook or myspace or all those silly things
you're all members of. Get on it, and you can get a kind of friendslist of
single sentence posts all going to your mobile phone. It's better than it
sounds.

Jimmy Hill was being interviewed on the telly in the kitchen earlier about
the penalty shoot-outs in league games nonsense. He was against it, but his
main point seemed to be that he couldn't understand why it was that before
coming up with this suggestion he, Jimmy Hill, had not been asked his
opinion on it. The interviewer didn't suggest that it was because nobody
remembers who Jimmy Hill is any more, but you could tell that he was
thinking it.

I think my mobile deal would be unhappy with the prospect of me recieving in the double figures of text messages a day. Not that it isn't already unhappy with the amount of phone-web-browsing that goes on.

Does it cost you to receive texts? What kind of weird plan are you on?

... ... ... that's a very good point. I'll go see about that, then.

Twitter sounds irritating. It also has an irritating name. I don't understand the point of any of these things anyway though. Facebook? Why?

Twitter does sound irritating, but so far (about a couple of days) it's been mildly entertaining and astonishingly funny in ways that I can't explain. I think it's some kind of nutcase amplifier on acid. See what rubbish I'm talking?! THAT's because of twitter.

I've also joined facebook after someone invited me. I don't get it.

Reasons
1 - actually, I don't join all those things. I am on LJ, and that's about it.
2 - sounds realy fing annoying
3 - have no mobble

I think I am excused.

You don't have to have phone notification - you can use it solely by web, or even email I think.

Their funky catch-phrase is "device-neutral". Which I suspect translates into "lots of Mac clients".
