Weekend in photos. [Mar. 25th, 2007|11:23 pm]
Listen in, listen Ian!
On Friday night I went and sung karaoke at the Bloomsbury Bowl. Karaoke is great isn't it? I sung Pure by The Lightning Seeds, Labelled With Love by Squeeze, The Boys Are Back In Town by Thin Lizzy, and Maggie May by Rod Stewart, and it was good. hoshuteki is singing Sk8er Boi here, I think:

Yesterday morning I got up earlyish, and went to Forest Hill to catch the dying days of the polar bear exhibition. It was a photo of every stuffed polar bear in the UK in both private and public collections. The best one was one that was just in someone's hall - I want a stuffed polar bear in the hall, why don't IKEA sell them? - holding flowers. I looked round the Horniman's new aquarium too. It's ace, they have jellyfish:

The Sainsburys in Forest Hill has some kind of strange, Day Today-esque news ticker thing in its window:

I went tram walking in Croydon and New Addington in the afternoon. The nicest bits were walking through the woods at Addington Hills, and seeing forest fungus:

and the various parks:

The grimmest bit was New Addington itself, although it did have animals:

It also had little w@nkers, who provoked me into an out of character shout of "No, lets go and beat the sh1t out of those little kids!" when someone suggested walking up to the next stop to catch up with miss_newham.

Last night I went to kiss_me_quick's birthday party, which was busy, loads of fun and an excellently short bus ride from my house.

Today Ive done nothing much. I must stop wasting these Sundays really. I've lived here six months now, and I've still got loads of stuff in boxes. If anything, the amount's only increasing.

I like the mental news ticker. And I found the idea about the polar bears so fascinating that I had to look it up, and found the artists' website, which has all the photos on. The really old bear is creepy and the private hallway bear from the glacier mints factory is great. I may have to post about them. I want to go on tube/tram walks.

The Horniman is ACE! It is one of my favourite museums in London (and not just because it's my local)

I felt a bit sad for the polar bear made to wear a fez in someone's hallway - but not as sad as for all those damaged and badly stored ones. :(

Did you see the walrus too? :)
