Is Bourneville in John Hemmings' constituency? B30 2PX is Cadbury's
postcode if that helps.

Nothing sinister in the question. He bought me - and all his other
employees, I should note - an Easter egg and I wondered if his choice of
supplier was support for local business, or just a mark of excellent taste.

According to Theyworkforyou, Lynne Jones is Cadbury's local MP.

He’s MP for Yardley, but he lives in Moseley (much closer to Bourneville). But he might regard being in the same city as being sufficiently local.

I don’t recall anything about his personal taste in chocolate.

Indeed, he lives just down the road from me and I often see him in the local pub. Still not all that close to Bournville, though.

Bournville is in Selly Oak constituency. It is a Conservative ward locally, and a Labour seat nationally.

Lynne Jones is the MP now but it will be Steve McCabe after the next election. Yardley is south-east Birmingham. As mooism says, I guess he regards anything Birmingham-produced as local enough.

Very likely. In his maiden speech, he referred to a copy of the Birmingham Monopoly set he was putting in the Commons Library, and the speech is oriented towards Birmingham as a whole, rather than Yardley specifically.
