You're a Mets fan? I wouldn't have thought it. Thrilling comment, eh?
he doesn't look masochistic enough to be a Mets fan, does he? :-)
It could be worse. He could follow the Cubs.
(says she who will always have a soft spot for the Cubs, despite being a Brewers girl).
Oh, liking the Cubs builds character; it's good for you. Although there's something to be said for people who live in New York choosing not to support the Yankees, I can never understand what use the rest of the country is supposed to have for the Mets.
(Though I actually followed them myself for a couple of years, when my favorite player got traded there, when they had the greatest infield ever, and then they lost the ALCS and eventually traded him to the Yankees, so I took it as a sign and reverted to the Twins fan I had previously been.)
Robin Ventura? He's the only one of that infield that they traded to the Yankees I think. The infield's better now anyway - they're racking up double plays at an insane rate, three more last night.
Oh, and it was the NLCS they lost. But they won it a year later. I'm hoping that pattern repeats this year :)
Yeah, I used to watch him when he was with the White Sox because we couldn't get Twins games at the time but did get Chicago ones on cable.
And, argh, of course it was the NLCS. :-) Can you tell where I've been paying attention to baseball since? They did win the next year, but wasn't that when they were so diappointing against the Yankees?
are your from MN? If you, you know what a bubbler is. Hooray!
Yes, I am, and yes, I do, and having said that and that you're a Brewers fan, you must be from Wisconsin. :-)
Hooray! Big up the ex--pat midwest massive!
I am indeed a Cheesehead. I used to have an Amusing Icon for this but not anymore.
It thrilled me, because I don't get to talk about baseball with enough people.
Brewers fan, eh? Tough break!
Oi! We start off every season kicking serious ass. And then, admittedly, lose for the rest. Ah well. The glory days of Paul Molliter, etc.
Paul Moliter! I remember him. Yeah, he was great. I was going to offer my condolences, too, for your club. :-)
hmmm, not sure about cheap trainers in cov gdn, most of the shops tend to be tres p0ncey, although there might be somewhere on neal street, there's like 98374659827634 shoe shops there, might have sale rails...
or there's always the adidas shop next to fopp ;)
next to fopp
Yeah, but here be cash-eating monsters.
Ah, it can wait till the weekend.
Also, these are trainers to actually wear to play sport in, not fashion items.
