Listen in, listen Ian!
I've been to visit my parents this weekend. It was good.

Beyond being ruinously expensive, trains are okay these days aren't they? I got a seat both ways with a power socket, so I was able to plug in my laptop and just watch DVDs and stuff I've downloaded. What's more, the train back this afternoon arrived about 15 minutes early. That's pretty much unheard of in my experience.

I saw my sister and her family for the first time since Christmas, which was good, and I went to see my friends Mark and Barbara on Saturday night, and their new six-week-old son, Daniel, who was, well, a six-week-old baby. Aw.

Yesterday afternoon I went to watch North West Counties League Champions FC United play.

They won 4-2, with Rhodri Giggs outperforming his more famous brother this weekend by scoring a hat-trick.

Also, when walking away from the ground I was approached by someone claiming to be a NotBBC lurker, who also reads this load of old pony. So, if you're there, a big shout out to Simon, my first internet stalker!

It was a good, relaxing weekend.

Looks like there were more people on the pitch than in the stands!

Tsk. There were 2.5K there - they just only open two of the stands.

Er, that's not particularly impressive on the same day that they were featured on Football Focus and claimed to be getting an average gate of 7,000 for each game!

I saw a friend on the bus this morning... this will amuse you.... yesterday he played in the Cyril Anekstein Cup Final (the more minor of the two Jewish Sunday League cup competitions), and his side won after extra time in front of a crowd approaching 500, but get this... because of fixture congestion (they're on for the treble), he has to play a league title decider tomorrow night (just 48 hours after playing 120 minutes in a cup final)!!

7,000? Who exactly said that? I didn't see it, but I'm highly sceptical - I know lots of the people involved in FC, and I find it hard to believe they'd say that. We're all proud enough of what has been achieved without making stuff up.

I got this once from someone in Leicester, who said they lurked and recognised me from a meet photo. I found it quite unsettling.

Er, yes it was me. Thanks for the shout out. I did realise afterwards that it could have been unsettling and for that I apologise. My intentions were similar to those echoed by a new banner that was on display recently...

"FC United, making friends not millionaires"

I post on notBBC as Simon D and have a pretty defunct blog. I've about two readers, never mind any stalkers! I did write up my thoughts on the formation of FCUoM here...

Anyway, it was good to meet you on Saturday, it was a cracking game, especially the second half.

Next stop the Unibond.
