Listen in, listen Ian!
I went to a classical music concert on Friday night because I'm cultured, and also because eyekiller organised it. It was Mozart and Stravinksy, and I think I was the only person there who liked the Stravinsky bit. I've not done much else this weekend - I went out and bought the Harry Potter book yesterday from Woolworths, and I went for a bit of a walk this afternoon but it's been quiet mostly.

Oh, and I booked a place to stay when I go to Barcelona in September. What's the difference between a hostel and a hotel? This place claims to be a hostel but I'm in an ensuite room with a TV, air conditioning and wi-fi. That sounds like a hotel to me. Ah well, it's relatively cheap and in a decent position (bit north of the centre near Parc Guell and near a Metro station) so they can call it what they want afaic.

Two weeks no until I go to Edinburgh, and it can't come soon enough. I need a break, it's been well over a year since I last had a proper holiday. And it's nearly Monday morning now. Boo.

Don't hostels generally make you do chores for part of your room and/or board?

Does it call itself a hostal or a hostel? Hostal/pensión is often more like a guest-house/b&b type place, but really it's pretty much interchangable with hotel. sometimes hostels are also called hostals, but can be called albergues, which really is more like dormitory youth hostels. Tons of roadworks going on round the Lesseps area at the mo if that's the metro station you're near. I usually stay much closer to the centre though. Barcelona Metro is ace though, very reliable.
