To be fair, West Ham have just spent £5.5m in fines and probly millions more on legals confirming that they have rights over Tevez. Joorabchian sold Tevez to West Ham on a basis that isn't valid for registration to play in the Prem. So if United insist on signing him ("on loan") from Joorabchian, then they should be getting a 5.5m fine at least, if not more. Basically, United should play ball, give West Ham a transfer fee to set against the massive costs they've racked up validating his presence in the Prem, and get on with it.

Well, for a start they got fined for having an illeglly registered player. they were lucky not to have points deducted. If they spent millions on legal advice confirming their rights then they were ripped off, because a)They should have checked before signing the contract surely and b)They appear to have been advised that you can get out of a contract by ripping it up.

If United sign him from Joorabchian, they'll presumably do what West Ham didn't, and make sure the details of the transfer are within the rules. I don't see why they should get a fine because Joorabchian sold Tevez to West Ham on a basis that isn't valid for registration to play in the Prem.

Are you seriously suggesting that there's something going on here other than the Premier League knowing how badly they fvcked up, and running around desperately trying to cover their backs so that everyone else won't officially know how much they fvcked up?
