Listen in, listen Ian!
This weekend was excellent, with just about the perfect ration of busy to
non-busy. On Friday night people came round to play poker and eat my cakes,
so I got the chance to use my exciting new card suffling machine. All
concerned agreed that it was pretty much the most excelelnt use of science
that they'd seen for a long time. Even if it didn't always take as many
cards as it should from the pile on the right of the machine. I suppose
they still have to perfect the design, but it's good to be an early adopter
of stuff like that.

I woke up late on Saturday, and spent a while deciding whether to get up,
go out and make good use of the day or not. I couldn't think of anything
worthwhile to do, so I just wasted the day hanging around the house (I
can't even faintly remember what I did) until I went out to watch the
football (note to Martin O'Neill - when your players go flying in with
challenges that everyone knows have been a bookable offence for years now,
blame them, not the referee.) and then to demiabeille's DDR
party, which was excellent. There was just about everything that's
excellent and Japanese there, including very good home made sushi.

Yesterday morning, I did get up at a semi-reasonable time and got the bus
to my_name_is_anna's house to pick up the tripod that she was
giving away last week, then I walked down Holloway Road to get breakfast in
a caff and do shopping - I went in Morrisson's and bought Bagpuss
! Which is great. Then I came home and did useful stuff - I made
another batch of buns to use up the whipped cream I had left over from the
ones I made last week, and cleaned the fridge out, and tidied the lounge
and kitchen generally. Then I watched a load of recorded TV - including The
X-Factor. It was harsh that she was in the final 2,
but her repeat performance was shocking and she was doomed from then. The
bloke who sang Money Can't Buy Me Love was cr@p, and should have
gone.Jebus, offensive_mango, see what you've done to
me? - and another episode of Rome. Thus did Sunday drain away quietly.

Hey, it's Monday now! Great! Monday! Has anyone built the Empire State
Building yet?

Actually, I watched the X-Factor too. I missed a couple of performances and the whole of the eviction show (or whatever it's called), though (except for the very very end), so I look forward to seeing those bits when I get in tonight.

The Money Can't Buy Me Love guy has a very, very good voice, which is probably all that kept him from going. I'm glad that irritating elmer-faced tw@t went.

I am imagining you getting very cross trying to milk bagpuss now.

Also, there is an Empress State Building in London.
