Listen in, listen Ian!
"It works!" one of the programmers here has just shouted to the whole office with surprise and delight. It's nice to have these little victories sometimes.

Haha that is brilliant when that happens. I remember a few weeks ago when I shouted out the very same thing with tears of joy in my eyes because that flipping new bugtracking system I have been developing for the past million years finally finally did something it was supposed to, the thing that has given me headaches for the past 6 months of weekends, that has driven me beyond crazy. AT LAST. I was so excited I couldn't even explain to people why I was so happy, just IT WORKS IT WORKS!

She's been quietly remonstrated with by their boss (well, he knowns no other kind of remonstration) about this before, as ideally there should be no surprise when things work, it sends the wrong signals. I think the rest of the office is closer to her than him on this subject.

I hope to have this warm and fuzzy feeling when my new intranet and website goes live in a few weeks...

Just lately, I've been having the same kind of response with "It Hasn't Fallen Over!", or "It Stayed Up for A Whole Day??? Yahoo!"

That's the kind of outburst I always imagine being followed by an evil cackle.
