I get my 5 a day if I bring my lunch in. I've mostly given up on sandwiches these days and moved on to noodles/rice based food with meat and veg. Add in an innocent smoothie for 2 portions worth and it's achievable. But not as much fun as the pork pie/Scotch Egg lunches, so I make space for those too.
Are you sure though? The amount of stuff you actually need to eat to get 5 a day is fvcking loads.
8 brussel sprouts = 1 portion. 8. Fvck that.
8 brussel sprouts? Are you mad? I'd far rather eat 10 strawberries. Or 3 tablespoons of peas and corn mixed through rice. Or dip carrots into hummus.

and some of the portions are boggling. A cereal bowl of spinach? 16 Okra?Ergh.
What about 10 radishes? Yikes!
They're also a bit woolly - how big is a spear of broccoli? And why does cauliflower have florets, not spears? Florets makes more sense.

Keith, who I sit opposite at work, not only goes to the gym EVERY lunchtime, but he also eats at least 6 bits of fruit at his desk, throughout the day.
I sometimes get my 5, but generally when I either snack on fruit, or do something super-veggy for dinner. On work days breakfast and lunch are too limited in time or menu to include much in the way of fruit or veg, and I try not to snack too much. So the occasional stir-fry of vast quantities of veg, with beansprouts instead of rice or noodles is really my main source. Otherwise it's strawberries and raspberries in the summer. Om nom nom.
What about this new-fangled (and surely impossible) 3 portions of wholegrain a day? Short of eating nothing but Shreddies and brown rice, I can't see it being possible.
I've not heard of that one. Does it include brown bread? It must include Weetabix, I'd have thought. Does it have to be all different ones, like the fruit and veg?

It's one the cereal companies are pushing. Not sure about brown bread. It should. As for all different ones - dunno - how many grains are there?

I really haven't got a fvcking clue about this whole "5 a day" fannydangle and I really can't be bothered to find out and keep track of it.
