Listen in, listen Ian!
I've booked some more holidays, to do stuff. In July, I'm going to go to Latitude. Apart from shewho, who I already know about, is anyone else I know going?

I've booked time off to go to Edinburgh as well. I'm going to go up on the last Thursday, and come back on the following Monday. Hooray for the bank holiday, always letting me spend an extra day in Edinburgh. I was all ready to book a train for this too, but you can't book trains that far in advance apparently.

I've booked a day off to go and play in the Manchester softball tournament in August too. The softball season proper starts today, and as the rain's stopped now I guess the game will be going ahead. If I'm honest, I'd rather it was called off because (i) I want to go home and watch the football and (b) The pitch will be soggy, and it will be harder to run and stuff, but whatevs. I'm sure it will be fun. Man, Wandsworth Common though, that's a crazy place to play.

I might try and squeeze in a bit more holiday as well, later in the year. I'm thinking of a weekend in Lisbon as a possibility, or maybe Madrid as I should probably go to some part of Spain that isn't Catalunya at some point. Now, bearing in mind that Italy's out of the picture as I'm currently planning that for my main holiday next year (Rome, Pompeii and ???):

Where should I maybe go for the weekend later this year?

Don't know if you know them, but martinv and crew are heading to Latitude. Can definitely introduce you if you don't already know each other.

Give us a shout when you're in Edinburgh (or if you need a place to stay) and we'll go for a pint

Rome, Pompeii and maybe Florence?
Dunno how much travelling you want, or if you've seen Florence. You can do it in a couple of days, or 3 if you're lazy or really want to see _everything_. Almost all the interesting stuff is bunched up together in the middle.

I've seen very little of Italy - I've been to Milan twice, for work when I saw the airport, the Novotel and an office, and a day trip for a football match. That's it.
