Listen in, listen Ian!
I spent the weekend in a big field in Suffolk, and it was excellent.
It's very pretty:
There was quite a lot of Book Club:
I saw a number of comedians:
I saw Emmy the Great on Friday afternoon:
and Franz Ferdinand in the evening:
They were great - I think that somehow they shouldn't be as good as they are - it is, after all, a group of art school w@nkers playing at rock stars in a way, but it's more than the the sum of it's parts. I think I may have a tiny man crush on Alex Kapranos. He way kewl.
On Saturday evening I saw elbow:
and then at two o'clock on Sunday morning I saw Buzzcocks, who were absolutely fantastic and the best thing I saw in the entire festival:
The mosh pit for this was fantastic, and contained a huge range of people, from 14 year-old kids who obviously know their history, to fat old blokes who'd obviously seen them the first time round.
Yesterday, I saw The School in the morning, who remain fantastic:
I saw Paul Heaton in the afternoon:
and then I went to try and watch Blondie in the evening, but the tent was far too full - I don't really know why they weren't on in the main arena. This is the crowd behind me trying to get in:
and this is an excellent bit of graffiti on one of the tent poles:
I eventually got inside the tent a bit into the gig, and got a bit further forward as people came out.
Finally, this man has to be the happiest, nicest security staff I've ever seen at anything. Hooray for him:
If you want to see the rest of the photos, they're here.
Right, I'm going to go and sleep in a nice comfy bed now. Mmm, bed.
