Now, I'm no fan of graffiti as a rule, but outside Southwark Cathedral there are a load of bollards. And when you make bollards that look like this, you're asking for trouble really:



I don't know if the mouth on this one is put there on purpose, or just where a car with a rusty bumper hit it or something. I hope it's man-made though, because it's elegant in its simplicity.


Nice teeth. I don't know what the bit at the bottom is though

Also: are those there to block traffic? We don't call them bollards in the States.

I don't know. It's bothering me that we don't really seem to have a name for them. Silly American English. There are road blocks and guard rails, but that's not really the same thing.
