Free money! [Mar. 3rd, 2004|10:50 am]
Listen in, listen Ian!
Spread betting firm Spreadex messed up bad this morning, when they issued a quote of 0.0-1.0 on a Homes/Aways index, then quoted the individual games so that they could be sold for a total of 2.3 goals! If you don't understand that, then it just means that I get free money off them. If you do, then I'm sorry but they've twigged now and the 0.0-1.0 quote has gone.

Also, I found a nice page about American Elections: Presidential Primaries and Caucuses, 1972-2004.

Thing to do: maybe add a feature to Galeon to allow you to quickly get the page title into the cut/paste buffer.

Outstanding arbstering there Tim. I missed that one.

There was also a lovely, juicy arb on yesterday's football when Forest could be backed all day long at 6/4 with bet365 and layed all day long at around evens on betfair/daq.

It's like having bags full of money delivered to your house if you have enough collateral on these occasions.

Is there a super-secret arbs mailing list anywhere that I can get on? I could do with some free money. L has started applying for all the credit cards that have these "use it once we'll give you M&S vouchers", she's going to use them once then cut them up. I can't decide whether to bother replying to the Hospital Plan thing, it's a free fiver but you have to remember to kill the DD before it kicks in.

If there is, it's too super secret for me. My dad phoned me to tell me about this one.

Somebody usually posts the more obvious football arbs on the betfair forum. Celta Vigo away at Milan springs to mind. In that case you could bet Celta at 11/4 in Ladbrokes shops and lay 6/4 on betfair. There have been three or four games like that this season.

For the less obvious, less profitable arbs I'm afraid all you can do is wade through the odds of every firm in every game until you spot something. It's very dull. A friend of mine does it full-time but he has the brain of an accountant and has built up a massive staking bank. He'll stake say ten thousand pounds on a game to win £50.

Yikes! Maybe I'll just back Michael Tedious Schumacher to win every damn GP at a fiver a time. More my level.
