Listen in, listen Ian!
Words can barely express the level of contempt I feel for this degree of stupidity.
Peter Kite, who also lives in the cul-de-sac and was taking part in the protest, said: "The police say it's legal but they don't see everything.
"If you've got pornography here now, you're going to have prostitution next, you're going to have drugs. In a residential area? No way - no way."
What? There is no logic at all to that remark. What does "they don't see everything" mean? If there's something in particular you want to complain about rather than just trying to impose your moral values on others, tell the polive about it? And of course, there's the usual "Think of the childruuuuuuun" remark. My god! There's only an opaque wall between them and people doing it! WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO THEM?
The same witch-hunt mentality that causes paediatricians to have their houses burned down. Horrible reactionary attitudes built on received opinion and non-sequiturs; sometimes I despair of the Great British Public.

For the benefit of Mr. Kite
There will be a show tonight on trampoline
The Hendersons will all be there
Late of Pablo-Fanques Fair, what a scene (Have you seen it? It's great, they got stuff.)
Over men and horses hoops and garters
Lastly through a hogshead of real fire!
I shudder to think what they'd make of Henry the Horse dancing the waltz.
Down with this sort of thing!
Does nobody on the cul-de-sac have sex apart from in this particular porn studio? How the fuck - no pun intended - does Margaret Kite think the "little children" got made?
And there are women with their tits out in every newsagent! Not top shelf, either - shit like the Sun and the Sunday Sport. Children are much more likely to wander into a newsagent (sweets! comics!) than they are a private house with a locked door.
You'll note that the two people 'interviewed' are Pete and Marge Kite. What's the betting those two wrote all the signs then bugged everyone in the street to wave the placards about? And they managed to drum up another six people there, not exactly a mass protest by the whole street is it?
If they feel it is going to affect house prices, shouting about it in the road and getting on a national website is hardly going to help.
I reckon the only people laughing at them is the Beeb crew.
it is going to affect house prices
"Quiet cul-de-sac with easy access to locally-produced quality pornographic films. Only one entrance."
Only one entrance
The tradesmens entrance?
"Only one entrance."
Bit vanilla for porn, no?
Pete Kite is obviously a cretin, but at least he doesn't hold public office. The mayor's attitude, however, is truly scandalous. He knows perfectly well that nothing illegal is taking place, yet has choosen to attend a public protest against someone whom he represents. He is unfit for office.

He is the mayor of Sadly Broke, which is a vast tract of negative equity white flight Daily Mail emptiness, not a proper town. The sort of place where they would elect a pig if it was wearing a tie and standing for the Conservative party. He's unfit for office by definition, and also seems to be about 14 judging by the photo on the coucil website. Trading standards? What on earth is he on about?
