Food! [Feb. 10th, 2009|02:53 pm]
Listen in, listen Ian!

I copied completely from my_name_is_anna and made Millionaire's shortbread:

They didn't cut up into nice neat pieces though:

I think this was partly because of the diagonal pattern I forked into the chocolate before setting, but I'm not sure it would have made that much difference.

Edge in the slice sections before the chocolate cools completely and it makes it much easier. I think you should make it again to test the theory.

That looks very good. The batch I made a while ago was almost inedibly sweet.

I soldiered through though, you'll be pleased to hear.

My Scottish Granny says you must cut shortbread before it cools.

She says a lot of things though.

But you have to cool this before you can put the caramel and chocolate on. Aagh. Thorntons seem to manage to cut theirs up neatly.

Praps lightly cutting/scoring pre application of caramel and chocolate is a viable option.

it's all very complicated this. I suggest leaving it as one ginormous slab.
