|One day Emily found a thing

Listen in, listen Ian!
I got two bits of nice, personalised post today. One of them was a wedding invitation for June, for a friend I used to work with, and the other an invitation to the christening of the baby of a schoolfriend at the end of March. This latter I can not go to, as I have lots of people visiting me that weekend. Bah. Still, if they will go giving people 2 weeks' notice of stuff like that.|
I went out briefly this morning, and the weather was so nasty I didn't want to leave the house again all day. Therefore I haven't, I spent the afternoon and early evening watching DVDs with mixed results. First, I remembered that I hadn't watched Back to the Future with the commentary track yet, so I decided to do that, but it wasn't a proper commentary, it was a just a Q&A session that had been recorded at a university, and stuck over the film. That would be all very well as another extra, but pointless as a commentary, the whole point is that the people talk about things on the screen, or at least things that things on the screen remind them of.
I got fed up of that after a while, so I got round to approaching Lord Of The Rings. I'd not seen any of it so far, and hadn't really been planning to, but some friends persuaded me to borrow the special edition of The Fellowship of the Ring. I watched the first bit of that, and I see I was right not to be too bothered. I suspect I won't bother with the rest, it didn't do a lot for me. By this time I just wanted something entertaining so I watched Gladiator again. Excellent stuff.
That is all, i think.
