Long weekend [Aug. 31st, 2009|08:35 pm]
Listen in, listen Ian!
So, after doing nothing much on Friday, I've been busy since. Saturday, I went to the Rugby League Cup Final at Wembley to be surrounded by good northern folk - pretty good game, but could have been better, as Huddersfield never really competed. Some excellent tries though. Then I came home and watched football on baseball on the internet - the football was the most delightful case of daylight robbery I've ever seen in a football match.

Yesterday I went to Whipsnade Zoo with eyekiller and E, where they've got a fantastic new walk through lemur exhibition - the lemurs are really friendly and come and sit on the fence so you can get right up to them. You can also see their nasty, pointy-looking teeth which deters you from poking them, as tempting as it is. Last night I went to Camden to see The Trap's show in the fringe, which was brilliant. If they ever do it again, go and see it.

Today I got up early (ie before midday) and went into town to do shopping - I went to the big Waterstone's on Piccadilly where their 3 for 2 offer managed to become a 6 for 4 offer. I dreamed last night that when I'd arrived the 3 for 2 sale had finished, and they only had a "Buy four books for £2" offer, which I was annoyed about because I could only find 2 I wanted.

This evening I've been properly busy - I've done a huge pile of washing up, two lots of laundry, made a lasagne (which I'll be eating shortly) and even done the washing up that that created. I've also made some dough, which is currently proving in the kitchen so I can make bread for sandwiches for work tomorrow. Work tomorrow, boo! Oh, and I've got a date on Wednesday night. Rah!

Many years ago, when I still found juggling exciting, as opposed to merely fun, I discovered that at Chester Zoo it was the lemurs who were most amused by it.

The owls of course, as ever, merely turn their back on you to projectile poo. Tough audience.
