Listen in, listen Ian!
Also, I've now got an Android phone. Recommend apps to me. Or tell me what app you'd like that doesn't exist, and maybe I'll write it. Although no promises, because I'm honestly more likely to just watch DVDs and read the internet.|
get the one that turns it into a tricorder! THAT ONE! YES!
You need TuneIn, which is free from the Market and has just about every radio station in the world on it.
The killer app for me is probably Google Listen, which keeps my phone filled up with more podcasts than I have time to listen to. London Journey is a useful, no-nonsense interface to Journey Planner, with a big "get me home from here" button. And FourSquare has suddenly become more useful recently with a "show me places near here that my friends have recommended" feature. JuiceDefender claims to double your battery life, and spares you from remembering to have to switch wireless on and off whenever you leave the house. And Rain Alarm Pro does clever extrapolations from Met Office data and tells you whether you should carry an umbrella today.
Still haven't found any particularly good games for it, but I'm currently investigating the Scrabble clone Wordfeud, which seems alright, and has multiplayer.
What phone did you get?
I like and use:
Retro Cam and FXCamera
Train Times UK
Where's the Tube?
Robo Defense FREE
WordWise (Scrabble clone, pretty good free version)
