I don't understand Tumblr. I don't get how you can have a conversation with anyone. Maybe I'm just too old.

I think you have to treat it like Twitter, and not try and keep up with it 100%. Otherwise you'd go mad.

It's like lj without anyone having any internal filter at all. Which is fine, but tiring.

I struggled for a long time trying to understand Twitter and Tumblr. Why would I want to have public conversations? Why is it useful to put anything at all on Tumblr, only to have it repeated endlessly along and put out of context?

However I finally got them both when I started using them for board gaming. I get it, now. One is a big chat room full of people interested in the same thing as you, the other is the same, but for pictures.

I still dislike both, and prefer to hang around on LJ for talking about anything real. FB is mainly used for writing things that let my family know I am alive and functioning well as a human being.
